About the Chap Club

The purpose of the Chap Club is to support, financially and physically, the Athletic Department of Westlake High School in accordance with established policies of Westlake High School, Eanes Independent School District, and the University Interscholastic League.

All proceeds and donations collected by the Chap Club are deposited to the Chap Club general fund and are available to meet specific needs of all athletic programs within the Westlake Athletic Department. The process by which funds are distributed begins with the respective coach making an official request to their Athletic Director. If the Athletic Director agrees with the request, it is then presented to the board of directors of the Chap Club for their approval.  All approved funds are then donated to EISD with the request that they be used for that specific purpose.

Chap Club supports the student athletes year round. Before the season begins, Chap Club provides the financial support to enable coaches to attend clinics for their respective sport, fund their professional organization fees and supplement their benefits.  For all sports that participate in out of town tournaments prior to district play, Chap Club funds the overnight hotel expenses so these trips can be made possible.  The student athlete benefits from the coaches’ continuing education and extra competition gained from tournaments prior to regular season play.

All Sports - leather straps for the weight room Cross Country - exercise mats and tents Track - high jump pit cover pad, weather cover, 25 hurdles and all-purpose carrier and meals during Chap Relays for coaches and volunteers Girls Track - new travel bags Baseball - treated batting tunnel nets and a treated portable backstop Softball - new uniforms Boys Golf - team golf bags Girls Golf - team golf bags Boys Soccer - stadium jackets Girls Soccer - new warm up jackets, pants and backpacks Boys and Girls Soccer – covered benches Football - framing of football photos Honor Boards – updating all honor boards sports signage in all sports venues Middle Schools - upgrading of weight room equipment at both middle schools

Membership fees are a vital component for meeting the requirements for many athletic programs.  100% of the money raised by the Chap Club stays right here to help over 900 student athletes.   Westlake Athletics had an outstanding year as we welcomed Darren Allman into his first full year as Athletic Director.  We look forward to another stellar athletic performance in 2010-2011.
